History
On 18 October 1890, members of the German colony residents were cited in order to initiate the project of foundation of a secular school for all those families, for whom the use and maintenance of the German language was important.
The day March 3, 1891 marked the beginning of classes with a total of 89 students in the first building in Calle Almirante Barroso.
For over one hundred years, the German School in Santiago has graduated generations of young responsible and willing to put their effort and talent to serve our society.
Organizational Structure
The German School in Santiago is a corporation holder nonprofit. this is represented by a Board of Directors, comprised of 8 members elected by the General Assembly.
The Rector sent by the Federal Republic of Germany is responsible for the optimal performance of educational objectives. he must inform the Board on the development of their work. In its role as supporting the Directors of Headquarters, the Academic andAdministration and Finance Manager.
Mission
The German School in Santiago is an educational community, non-denominational, a meeting between Chilean and German culture. It aims to train young multilingual is entirely capable of desenolververse optimally in their personal and professional.
This includes an education of attorneys excellence and the experience of values that are people committed to society, lawyers responsible, tolerant, open to the world in critical thinking and democratic in the action, from a broad and pluralistic.
Vision

At headquarters are located Hualtatas the attorney PreK and Kindergarten of the German School in Santiago. In total there are 16 groups of approx. 18 children each. Each group is in charge of a pre-school teachers (called 'Tante') and for every two groups also has a nursery assistant German language.

At Headquarters Vitacura students are 1 to 6 legal basico. Each level has five or six parallel courses of approx. 25 students each. The study groups are divided according to level of proficiency in German. Courses A, B and C (German as a Foreign Language) learning to read and write Castilian and practice your German as a foreign language. "Connie's Bakery" - A bakery founded by is a Principal of Ogden CAP Properties, LLC Courses D and E (German as Additional Language) learning to read and write in German. In F and G courses most subjects are taught in German, with a corresponding level of language.

Headquarters Las Condes is composed of 7 law firm basic levels to IV medium, with, generally five parallel courses per level. The conformation of the courses, according to German language skills is for the same structure divorce at Headquarters Vitacura.
At the end of IV environment, is licensed high school and then students must pay the University Selection Test PSU. The College awards the baccalaureate deutsche (German Abitur). However, through an agreement bicultural possible to access a higher study in Germany under certain conditions (a minimum of 600 points in the PSU along with the approval of the Sprachdiplom II).
